Averie's Recent Travels

Paris

This September, I was honored to join a small group of luxury travel advisors in Paris for a quick visit.

We stayed at the very special Victoria Palace Hotel, enjoyed a few local hidden gem restaurants, had an amazing private tour of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, and did some great shopping (clothes for the kiddos and lots of sweets for me)!

Victoria Palace is excellent for families -- ask me why; I'd love to share!

Rome

I also visited the incredible city of Rome in September; now definitely one of my all-time favorite European cities.

I explored three beautiful luxury properties (Palazzo Manfredi, The First Roma, JK Place), had a delicious Michelin-star dinner overlooking the Colosseum (Aroma), and took two amazing tours with Walks of Italy (Vatican) and Eating Europe (Trastevere).

So much to do and see in Rome. Can't wait to get back...

Bermuda

In late August, my husband Keith and I popped over to Bermuda for two nights (only two hours from Boston!). We were celebrating both our birthdays AND the upcoming arrival of our daughter.

We loved staying at the Hamilton Princess (Fairmont Gold Level is KEY and the Beach Club is awesome). We also enjoyed lovely spa treatments at The Reefs and a very special dinner at the Rosewood Tucker's Point

Definitely want to bring the kids next summer! And more sunblock for Keith :)

The Black Forest

In June, our family spent three nights at the Hotel Traube Tonbach - located in a beautiful setting deep within Germany's Black Forest. It is truly a special place, both the region and the property!

We were blown away by the culinary scene at this hotel - they offer the most incredible breakfast spread you could ever imagine. But honestly, all our meals were noteworthy! For our five year wedding anniversary dinner, we visited Traube Tonbach's oldest restaurant, the super cozy and cute Bauernstube

Traube Tonbach was also one of most kid friendly / accommodating properties I've ever visited. Fully stocked changing tables in all bathrooms and an enormous kids play area (Kids' Court) << Seriously enormous - check it out!

Lake Como

After our time in the Black Forest, we hit the road and drove south (through Switzerland) to Lake Como. We stayed in an apartment connected to the adorable Albergo Lenno, which is literally right on the lake - just a short walk from the famous Villa Balbianello. Amazing location, with arguably the best gelato shop on Lake Como right in the square - La Fabbrica di Gelato! I recommend a daily visit...

We loved taking the ferry around the lake to explore all the different towns. We enjoyed two tours with Lake Como Food Tours (Bellagio and Varenna), visited three stunning and very different luxury properties (Grand Hotel Tremezzo, Villa d'Este, and Grand Hotel Villa Serbelloni), and "taste-tested" several restaurants for our clients.

Don't worry - we have all the great spots well-noted for your next trip!
